Psalms (Round 2)

June 3, 2013 § 1 Comment

Hey, remember when I made us go through the whole book of Psalms for “Ordinal Time?”

Yeah.  We’re going to do it again!

.
.
.

In case you missed the announcement and/or you were not around last year, here is what we are going to do:

Today and for the next 149 days, we are going to read a Psalm a day.
Today is Psalm 1, tomorrow is Psalm 2, etc!

.
.
.

This is cool for a number of reasons, here are a few:

1. It’s a way for all of us to be spending time in the same Scripture.  Moving from individual devotion to community worship.
2. No matter where Summer (and life) takes us, we will always be connected to RLF through Scripture.  Belize, Florida, Canada, the Moon… no matter where we go, we will be worshiping together.
3. The Psalms are really, really good for us.  This season in the Church Calendar is set aside for study, growth, discipline, and increasing devotion.  The Psalms encourage us, challenge us, connect us to our history, and grow us in new and exciting ways.

Revisit this post for a few words on what this might look like in practice.

Check back often for updates.  I’m sure the Psalms are going to bring out some beautiful things.  Are you with us?
